Background

The Work Behind the Work

I spent over two decades in the US Navy — active duty and reserves. That shapes how I think about systems, accountability, and the gap between training that looks good on paper and training that actually changes behavior. They are not the same thing, and the difference is usually obvious once you know what to look for.

After the military, I built a career in instructional design — healthcare systems, financial services, government agencies, enterprise L&D. The question I kept running into was the same one every L&D team faces: we built the program, why didn't anything change? The answer is almost always that the program was designed around content delivery rather than performance outcomes.

When AI tools started landing in enterprise environments, the problem got more visible. Organizations licensed Copilot, deployed it to ten thousand employees, ran a 45-minute awareness session, and called it adoption. Adoption means workflow change. That requires a training design investment, not an announcement.

Tanta Solutions is my consulting practice — the work I do directly with enterprise L&D leaders on AI enablement and ISD. Tanta Holdings is the system I built around a parallel problem I kept seeing on the global talent side.

What I Do

All engagements through Tanta Solutions under Tanta Holdings LLC. $85–150+/hr depending on scope.

AI Enablement Consulting

Most organizations deploy AI tools and watch utilization plateau at 20%. I design the training infrastructure that actually closes that gap — role-based curriculum, change management integration, adoption metrics built around real workflow change.

Available as project SOW or ongoing advisory

LLM Integration Advisory

For teams moving past general AI awareness and into real operational use — integrating large language models into knowledge systems, workflows, and business processes. Strategy, architecture review, and enablement design.

Standalone advisory or embedded consulting

Instructional Design & Curriculum

End-to-end ISD for enterprise L&D teams. ADDIE or SAM, eLearning or ILT, Articulate/Rise or custom builds. Built around your learner population, your LMS, and the performance outcome — not just the content.

Healthcare, financial services, government, enterprise

L&D Strategy & Capability Assessment

An outside lens on your learning function. Gap analysis, technology stack review, and a roadmap that connects learning investment to business outcomes. Available as a standalone engagement or an ongoing strategic advisory relationship.

CLOs, VP L&D, HR Directors

Speaking & Advisory

Available for conference speaking, panel participation, and advisory board roles on AI adoption, workforce readiness, and the future of L&D. Topics grounded in practitioner experience, not theory.

Virtual and in-person available

Workforce Readiness Assessment

A structured assessment of where your workforce stands relative to where AI adoption requires them to be — role by role, tool by tool, workflow by workflow. The prerequisite to designing anything that works.

Role analysis, gap mapping, readiness scoring

Four books in progress — three for L&D professionals and one for international remote professionals entering the US market. All part of The Standard Series.

In Progress

Built to Standard, Part 1: The Design Standard

ISD Foundations, Learning Frameworks, and Working With Subject Matter Experts

What the Navy taught about training infrastructure, applied to how learning actually works. ADDIE and SAM in plain language, learning theory without the jargon, and how to extract knowledge from subject matter experts who have never had to teach.

For: Instructional Designers, L&D Managers, Training Leaders

Built to Standard, Part 2: The Learning Standard

Documentation Systems, Training That Sticks, and Building the Standard That Sustains Itself

The operational half of Built to Standard. SOPs, process documentation, knowledge bases, team documentation, remote work documentation, and documentation as a business asset — the systems that make training stick and organizations scale.

For: Instructional Designers, L&D Managers, Operations Leaders

The Documentation Standard

The Instructional Designer's Edge

Documentation is not administrative overhead — it is the design artifact that makes ISD work reproducible, defensible, and scalable. A shorter, focused guide to building documentation as a professional differentiator, not an afterthought.

For: Instructional Designers, L&D Professionals, Training Managers

Published

The American Standard

How International Virtual Assistants Build Trust, Earn More, and Work the Way US Clients Expect

The professional standards layer that most VA guides skip entirely — the unspoken cultural expectations of US clients that international VAs have to learn the hard way. Three rules from the Navy applied to VA work and remote business.
