The Problem We Saw
The VA industry has a trust problem. Business owners want to hire help. VAs want to find work. But the marketplace model keeps failing both sides.
Clients hire from a profile, hope for the best, and end up cycling through VAs who looked great on paper but could not perform. They go through the process multiple times, burning time and money each cycle. The frustration is real. They need help. They cannot find it.
VAs compete on price in a race to the bottom, with no way to prove they are different from thousands of other applicants. A client might receive 50 proposals for a single job. How do they choose? Often by price. The VA who wins is the cheapest, not the best. The VA who is actually excellent at the work gets undercut and underpaid. This does not reward quality. It rewards the ability to live on less.
Both sides lose in this dynamic. Clients get poor quality. VAs get low pay. The marketplace model moves volume. It does not move quality.
What Was Missing
Verification. A credible third party that says "this person can actually do the work"—not based on self-reported skills, not based on a portfolio that might be outdated, but on demonstrated performance.
When you hire a licensed electrician, you know they passed an exam. When you hire a certified project manager, you know they completed a rigorous program. When you hire a VA from most marketplaces, you are trusting that they are telling the truth about their capabilities. That is not verification. That is hope.
Building the Solution
Tanta Global Assist was built to provide that credible third party. We train, certify, and place virtual assistants for US businesses. Every VA we place has been assessed through TGA certification. Not a quiz. Not a simple skills test. A real evaluation of communication, judgment, tool proficiency, and remote work readiness.
This changes the dynamic completely. Clients can hire with confidence because they are not guessing. VAs can be compensated based on quality because quality is verified. The marketplace can reward excellence instead of just price.
The Model
US strategy, Philippines execution. Our clients are American businesses. Our VAs are Filipino professionals. The Philippines produces exceptional English-speaking remote talent. Our job is to verify quality and match the right VA to the right client.
This is not arbitrage—paying low and selling high. The VA compensation we provide is professional and fair. What we are doing is matching quality to clients who value quality, eliminating the information asymmetry that causes both sides to lose.
Who Built This and Why
Jon Edwards, M.Ed.—veteran, instructional designer, and founder of Tanta Holdings LLC. The training methodology comes from military and corporate instructional design, where training directly impacts readiness. The operations come from building systems that scale without losing quality. The mission comes from believing that both sides of this market deserve better than what exists today.
We are not the biggest VA company. We are building the most trusted one. That means placements that actually work, VAs who can build sustainable careers, and clients who get the help they hired for.
